How does it compare?
Range
The GAC Aion LX boasts an impressive range of 1008 km (626 miles), quite the whopper when stacked against the Tesla Model Y with its 525 km (326 miles). Same story with the Ford Mustang Mach-E at 491 km (305 miles) and the Audi Q4 e-tron at 520 km (323 miles). Clearly, the GAC Aion LX is the heavyweight champion in range here, laughing in the face of range anxiety.
Acceleration
Time to get sporty. The GAC Aion LX hustles from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 7.9 seconds. Not bad, but not exceptional. Enter the Tesla Model Y, rocketing in 3.5 seconds. The Ford Mustang Mach-E follows closely at 3.7 seconds, and the Audi Q4 e-tron isn’t too shabby either with 5.8 seconds. Aion LX takes its time, sipping tea while others sprint.
Power
Cogs and pistons – or rather, electric motors! The GAC Aion LX flaunts 245 horsepower. Stack that next to the Tesla Model Y at 456 hp, the Ford Mustang Mach-E with 346 hp, and the Audi Q4 e-tron cranking out 295 hp. The GAC plays it cool, more of a gentle giant than a growling beast.
Charging Time
Plug it in. The GAC Aion LX doesn’t dawdle with its 144 kWh battery, recharging in about 10 hours on a Level 2 charger. The Tesla Model Y fills up its 75 kWh tank significantly faster in 8 hours. The Ford Mustang Mach-E with 98.8 kWh takes about 10 hours, and the Audi Q4 e-tron, sporting an 82 kWh battery, cuts down to around 7.5 hours. Fair fight here, though Tesla might have an upper hand in the quick draw.
Price
Finally, the wallet warriors. The GAC Aion LX holds a price tag of about USD 62,600, GBP 51,000, EUR 59,000. Comparing notes, the Tesla Model Y lists at USD 58,990, GBP 48,490, EUR 53,200. The Ford Mustang Mach-E is around USD 59,900, GBP 47,810, EUR 55,450. The Audi Q4 e-tron demands roughly USD 51,000, GBP 43,000, EUR 48,000. Here, the Aion LX tops the ticket, with Tesla and Audi keeping things moderately reasonable in comparison.
